I log the RTP messages in the FORWARD chain (by matching on sport 19900-20000, my RTP port range), If I understand iptables correctly, if those packets are matched by a rule which targets ACCEPT, then I should see those packets again on the OUTPUT chain. Some port forwarding has been performed for the SIP and RTP services.Īfter doing some tcpdumps on the box running Asterisk, and adding some logging to my router, it would appear that my outgoing RTP messages which contain the voice data, never make it out of my router. My Asterisk box and my VoIP phones sit behind my tomato router. I have run into a situation where people I call from my VoIP phone can't hear me, but I can hear them. I am attempting to run some VoIP services on my network (SIP and RTP).
